Access to Care Records

It is important to know where we come from, learn about our roots and understand our family history. Diagrama holds records for people with whom we have worked over the years including former child migrants. We support and guide people through the complex process of finding out about their backgrounds, making family connections and developing a stronger sense of identity.

Diagrama Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation, and is a charity registered with Ofsted.

Since November 2014 Diagrama Foundation has been responsible for holding the records for the former organisations:

  • Cabrini Children’s Society
  • The Southwark Catholics Rescue Society
  • The Southwark Catholic Children’s Society
  • Portsmouth Diocesan Catholic Child Welfare

Our records are held in the strictest confidence and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 principles and timeframes.

To apply for your personal records, please complete the application form and return to us with the relevant identification. On receipt, we will be able to confirm whether we hold an entry or records for you, and will be able to advise you of the process for receiving your records through an independent social worker or nominated counsellor of your choice, or if you prefer, securely through the post with support available throughout the process.

Family History Requests

Whilst we recognise the value of family history research, we are unfortunately, not in a position to respond to family history requests. As a charity with limited resources, we have to prioritise and fulfil our statutory obligations in providing personal records for adopted adults and those formerly in our care.

As far as we are aware, there are no arrangements in place within the organisation for this service to be offered at a later date.
