July saw the annual Diagrama summer picnic take place in Winchester with a afternoon filled with entertainment and lots of fun!

The picnic is an opportunity for Diagrama families both new and old to be able to spend time together, make new friends and keep in touch, offering helpful advice and encouragement to one another.  

The sun was shining and we were able to make excellent use of the venue, both inside and out. The children (and grown ups!) enjoyed the bouncy slide, as well as the entertainment provided inside the venue hall, with a disco and lots of children’s games with prizes. Face painting was also a big hit with the children.

A shared picnic and cream tea was enjoyed later in the afternoon.

It is an important part of Diagrama Adoption's support for parents to provide an opportunity for people to have the chance to chat in a social environment while the children spend a few hours getting to know each other and, most importantly, enjoy themselves. 

Families who met through adopting more than 10 years ago welcomed new families, sharing stories and advice as well as lots of laughs. One prospective adopter who attended made valuable connections and got a lot of tips from families who have already travelled the adoption path.

The afternoon also provided opportunities for families to speak to Diagrama social workers, to receive support, sign posting, and to be kept up to date with all that Diagrama is involved with.

A really successful and wonderful event that was enjoyed by all!
